Can you make ice cream in an ice cream maker with soy milk?

My daughter wants an ice cream maker ‘ball’ that you can shake or toss around with rock salt in it and it makes ice cream. It’s really cute but she is allergic to milk so we can’t use half and half. Any ideas?
I didn’t know you use eggs for ice cream. Unfortunately she can’t do eggs either. The half and half recipe doesn’t include any eggs.

Yes! It will work. I’ve used it before, it wasn’t as sweet as milk ice cream and it definitely came out with a thinner texture, but it was still ice cream [:
