Food staples for family of 5? What can I cook with what I have?
We have over a week before I get paid! I have 3 kids and a husband. We cannot afford charcoal foir a grill but need to cook stove top. Here is what I have now.Help me prepare good meals with this stuff! My kids are 3, 4, and 6 and picky!!
Here is what I have:
Boxed Mac N Cheese,
canned goods like green beans, carrots, mixed veggies, peas,
canned tomatoes
spaghetti noodles and pasta sauce
pork ribs
hamburger
rice
cans os potatoes
tons of frozen blueberries, tuna, egg noodles, scalloped potatoes, frfench fries, bread
peanut butter
oatmeal
apricot jam
applsauce and canned fruit
cheerios
dry beans
tomato soup
that is basically what i have for a week and a half
Help! What can I make with the food that I currently have?
Well if you have enough of it we could go for a month so lets get started on this little task.
Pork ribs can be cooked in the oven as well as anywhere especially if you have BBQ sauce to add to them. So jam them in there at 350 until there done. Throw on some vegies in the micro and do a box or two of Mac and cheese and your fed for a night.
Spaghetti and meatballs pasta and green beans
Hamburger and frenchfries with a canned veggie
Soup using hamburger and canned veggies and canned potatoes
Hamburgers and Scalloped potatoes and veggie
Dirty rice with hamburger
Breakfast rice boiled rice with butter, sugar, and milk
tuna fish sandwiches with french fries
Hamburgers with egg noodles and brown gravy
egg noodles and tuna and cheese casserole
tuna and rice casserole
Hamburger Canned tomatoes and egg noodles with a veggie for a side
beans and cornbread or just beans if you don’t have cornbread
well thats all i can think of at the moment lunches can be tuna sandwiches or tomatoe soup and a grilled cheese or just toasted bread if you have no cheese
Breakfast can be breakfast rice, cherios, applesauce and canned fruit or blueberries in pancakes etc.
