Why is no gas coming to my gas fire?
I have a log effect gas fire installed in my fireplace. It’s called a slab 22. I haven’t used it all summer and when I try to turn it on there is no gas coming to it. The gas tap is turned on but no gas comes to the fire. Is there something I can do to rectify this?

The gas tap is turned on but no gas comes to the fire. My central heating is working so there’s nothing wrong with the gas supply. Is there something I can do to rectify this?
Very commonly insects, namely spiders, will build a nest inside the air mixing orifice in front of the burner during the summer. I have also seen that orifice corrode shut if it’s in a high humidity environment. If the main house valve and control valve are both on and no gas, one of those may be your problem.
