Gas log fireplace?
How is it possible that a gas log fireplace can be used inside a home? Or . . . one of those ‘space heaters’ with (for example) 4 or 5 burners?
What about the carbon monoxide buildup?
Richard P is wrong, and seems to be over-reacting. Appliances that burn natural gas or LP gas do not pose a hazard for CO under normal conditions.
Unvented heaters may not be used in bedrooms. To be used in a bedroom, a gas appliance must have an exhaust vent to the outside of the building. But unvented gas devices include kitchen ranges and radiant heaters of all kinds. These are perfectly safe if properly installed and maintained.
You should always purchase such devices from certified dealers, whose technicians will have been properly trained by the manufacturer. If you follow that simple rule, there is no undue hazard.
