Should we file suit against home improvement store for this accident?
Question: My 3 year old was in a well known home improvement store with my boyfriend while I was at work yesterday, 6/29. In this time she had started crawling down the aisle for some reason and when she stood up she hit a very sharp corner on a BBQ grill that was set out on display causing her to lose lots of blood and need quite a few stitches across her face. Ambulance and fire dept were called and she was rushed to a local ER. Many people have suggested filing suit against the store for not having the grills more properly kept and/or covered, but I’m not quite sure if we’d even have a strong case or how I might go about it if we did.
Any help?
I wouldn’t if it was me. I doubt the store was thinking that a three year old was going to crawl under it and then stand up. I’m not judging, but if she was being watched more closely it probably wouldn’t have happened.
